Biography

I hold a BA in English Language and Literature from Hacettepe University (2012), an MA in English Language and Literature from Ankara University (2017), and a PhD in English Literature from Middle East Technical University (2025). This academic journey—marked by movement across institutions and intellectual traditions—reflects not only a personal trajectory of mobility but also an epistemological orientation that values transience, multiplicity, and relational thinking. Such a sensibility toward movement and intellectual plurality also informs my teaching practice. I have taught a wide range of courses in English, including pre-sessional academic English, foundational surveys of British literature, and specialised modules on British drama and the English novel. In parallel with my engagement in teaching diverse literary forms, my research centres on British literature and contemporary drama in English, with particular emphasis on posthuman spatiality, new materialisms, and ecopoetics. Drawing on literary theory and contemporary philosophy, my work investigates how space, matter, and ecology are reconceptualised in contemporary literature. I have presented my research at various conferences and continue to develop interdisciplinary approaches that bridge literature, theatre, and environmental thought in the study of drama, fiction, poetry and beyond.
