Pınar Turan is a PhDc researcher and a teaching assistant at the Department of Foreign Language Education, Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Türkiye.
Drawing upon multimodal conversation analysis and corpus-based methodologies, her main research interests include English as a medium of instruction in higher education, active learning environments, video-mediated pedagogical interactions, and reflective practice in language teacher education. She has professional experience as both a language teacher and a teacher trainer. She currently works as a project member in a national, multi-sited project on developing a data-driven in-service training framework for faculty in English-medium universities in Türkiye (EMIT4F), actively coordinating a team of graduate-level researchers in the processes of data collection, analysis, and development and curation of MOOC content.
Her recent publications appeared in the Modern Language Journal, System, and Linguistics and Education and she reviews for System, Linguistics and Education, Social Semiotics and Boğaziçi University Journal of Education.
