Biography
Ahmet Cosar is a Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at METU. B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from METU (1986), M.S. in Computer Engineering from Bilkent University (1988), M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis (M.S. – 1995; Ph.D. – 1996).
His main research areas include distributed database design, query optimization in distributed systems, evolutionary and genetic algorithms for optimization, computer networks and distributed computing, and intelligent data analysis. Over his career, he has contributed to numerous publications in these areas, including works on query optimization, parallel genetic algorithms, cloud data warehouses, distributed computing, and more.
