Özet:Microwave amplifiers having high output power are the essential components in many systems, such as radar and satellite communication. Although the structures generated by tube technologies fulfill the necessity of the required output power, the use of these amplifiers includes some critical drawbacks, one of which is the limited life of operation. Alternatively, solid-state amplifiers produced by transistor technology are preferred since they are high reliable devices. In order to provide the necessary output power, a certain number of the amplifying units are connected in parallel; thus, output powers of these units are combined and this combination is delivered to the output of a microwave-packaged module. In the thesis study, an amplifier design based on spatial power combining in coaxial medium is researched. High output power, broad bandwidth, high linearity and high combining efficiency are the most important purposes of the design. The technique used attains the mentioned aims by combining output powers obtained by 16 MMIC amplifiers in a coaxial transmission medium supporting TEM mode of propagation.
