Özet:The aim of this study is to analyse the impacts of the social security system reform performed in Turkey within the first decade of the 2000s. Specifically, the effects of the parametric changes brought about by the reform in the retirement system are investigated. For the stated purpose, a 30-period overlapping generations (OLG) model has been constructed and a parametric social security system reform has been implemented within the constructed model. The results show that the reform causes increases in the deficits of the social security system in the short run, and reductions in deficits are possible only in the medium to long run.
