Özet:Urban renewal managed by Turkish Municipalities and Housing Development $GPLQLVWUDWLRQ 72.ø) causes increase in water consumption at particular nodes. This study aims to find permissible increase in discharge at a single node without affecting other nodes in Yayla neighborhood, which is part of N8.3 pressure zone. Initially, capacity of existing water distribution network should be investigated to determine whether consumption increase at particular nodes affects the system. Peak discharge drawn from N8.3 pressure zone in Ankara is 650 m3/hr. This value can be increased up to 800 m3/hr without adding any pump to the current system. Firstly, network analysis is carried out by using Linear Theory and results are compared with Watercad outputs. Then sensitivity analysis is conducted for the system. At the end of the study, maximum possible outflow at the single node without disturbing other nodes have been obtained as 96.52 m3/hr for Yayla neighborhood. If this discharge is drawn from Yayla, minimum pressure head will be 40 m. To check the accuracy of the method, nodal demand was entered as 96.52 m3/hr for a particular node in Watercad and network analysis was refreshed. After refreshing analysis, Watercad verified the method used in this study. Since minimum pressure head values are 40 m, the value guaranteed by the municipality, a satisfying result has been observed. A methodology is offered to the municipalities for adapting existing lots in the city for urban renewal.
