Özet:During the road extension works of the Tarsus - Çamlıyayla Provincial Road at KM: 11+640 -12+080, a landslide occurred due to the construction of a steeper slope at the road side for wall construction. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the critical failure location of the landslide and to determine the necessary slope stabilization methods in order to prevent the development of a larger potential landslide that may occur in the future. For this purpose, necessary engineering geological in-situ and laboratory studies have been performed. After establishing the landslide model by the help of the geotechnical information collected, back analysis has been performed at three cross sections along the landslide in order to determine the shear strength parameters of the landslide material. Afterwards, the states of static and pseudo static condition of the landslide have been analyzed by using limit equilibrium method. As a result of these studies, the most suitable stabilization method has been performed by applying a rock buttress at the toe of the landslide, followed by unloading the landslide material in collaboration with surface and subsurface drainage along the landslide area. vi In addition to these studies, deformation analysis of the landslide has been modeled under static condition by the finite element method (FEM) before and after the remediation. It was concluded that the deformation analyses results obtained from the FEM were in a good agreement with the results of the inclinometer measurements along the landslide area. The remediation study has been based and assessed considering these deformation results. It was observed that the safety factor results obtained from FEM and limit equilibrium analysis were close under static conditions.
