Özet:

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between traffic locus of control, driver coping styles and the moderating role of dispositional affect on this relationship. The results showed that drivers who are more enthusiastic, more active reported that they have more adopted confrontive coping style in a stressful situation. Negative affect was found to be the only moderator in two relationships; the relationship between self locus of control and task-focused coping and the relationship between fate locus of control and emotion-focused coping. The findings, critical remarks of the study and suggestions for future studies were discussed.
