Özet:

The objective of this study is to analyze Greek security policy in the Post-Cold War period with regard to emerging new security environment. The evolving EU and NATO have been remarkable initiatives for their member and candidate states. The study considers that Greek foreign policy is mostly defined within the EU framework. Moreover a set of threats and risks come to the security agenda of states with the effects of globalization. This study tries to analyze continuity and change in Greek security perceptions and priorities in the Post-Cold War period and examines whether or not Greece sees the EU as a security provider. It is concluded that the end of the cold war did not lead to a remarkable change in Greek security perception and priorities and Turkey is perceived to remain the main أchallangeؤ to Greek security. Thus, Greece actively tries to use the EU as a security provider vis-a-vis Turkey as the process of EU̕s deepening and enlargement gains impetus.
