Özet:This thesis aims to examine the class experiences of the subcontracted cleaning workers, working in the shopping malls in Ankara. The study focuses on the precarious working conditions in terms of their effects on unionization, class consciousness, and future dreams of the workers. It also analyses how the workers experience class differences as a matter of self-respect in their relations with customers and chiefs, how they explain social inequalities, and to what extent they internalize class differences. Special emphasis is put on how precarious forms of employment and deepening class differences, are experienced by the workers. The field research of the study was conducted through semi – structured in - depth interviews with 20 cleaning workers in two large scaled shopping malls in Ankara.
