Özet:

Conduct problems and callous-unemotional traits were affected by child’s temperament and environmental factors such as parenting and SES. The current study aims to investigate the relationship between child’s conduct problems, callous-unemotional traits and internalization of rules from child temperamental characteristics and mother’s parenting styles as well as neighborhood factors. In the study, there were 359 mother child pairs and children were either 3rd or 4th grade. Participants recruited from low socioeconomic background. Mothers completed the scales including demographic, neighborhood measures, child temperament, child behavior problem and child moral development. Children were asked to fill out the parenting scales. Multiple hierarchical regression analyses were performed and the interactions between temperamental characteristics and parenting were examined to see the moderator effect of temperament. For children with high perceptual sensitivity scores, when mother’s guilt induction was high, they were more likely to show aggression and ucaring behaviors. For children with low perceptual sensitivity scores, when mother’s comparison was high, they were more likely to show rule breaking behaviors and callousness and less likely to show externally controlled behaviors. Among children with high reactivity scores, they were less likely to show uncaring behaviors and more likely to show internally well behaving if their mother’s warmth was high. For children with high reactivity scores, when mother’s emotionally manipulation was high, they were more likely to show aggression, rule breaking and uncaring behaviors. Results were discussed in light of literature, implications and limitations were mentioned.
