Özet:This thesis analyzed State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic’s-SOCAR success story and its development process from being a national-regional energy company to become an international oil company by its investments. On the contrary to the problems that national oil companies mostly face with, Azerbaijan has took a serious step by signing Contract of the Century on the September 1994 and opened its country for the Western investors and pave the way for country’s both economic and social prosperity. SOCAR is the single and the most important actor of this success story by its nature of being a national oil company and its cross the borders investment strategy with developing good relationship ties and even brotherhood with the Turkey, Georgia and European Union member states. Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, Trans Anatolian Pipeline and Trans Adriatic Pipeline are the main key energy projects that sustain European future energy security, develop relations between the actors and SOCAR are studied detailed in this thesis.
