The present article deals with historical background and present status of educational psychology in Turkey. A review of research based on the published research reports and unpublished M.Sc. and Ph.D. dissertations is presented and basic lines of research are discussed. Special emphasis is placed upon the culturally specific issues which stem from some aspects of the present education system in Turkey.
