Abstract

Range ambiguity is a consequence of constant pulse repetition frequency (PRF) in pulsed Doppler radar systems. Determining pulse intervals according to a random variable in a burst is known to increase the maximum unambiguous range, but it increases the computational complexity associated with 2D matched filtering (2D MF). Furthermore implementational limitations introduce blind regions. In this study a simulation of a pulsed Doppler radar was developed, and tested for preliminaries that would lead to a characterization of blind range behaviour.
