The report aims to provide a comprehensive mapping of African environmental and climate change legislation (Acts, policies, strategies and plans), transboundary mechanisms and financial mechanisms in relation to the implementation of Nature-based Solutions at regional, national and local levels. The analysis focuses on five sub-Saharan African countries, including Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, South Africa and Tanzania. Identification of gaps, needs, challenges and options of integration of climate services, ILK systems and consideration of gender and social inclusion approaches were mapped and analysed. The analysis was is completed with a critical analysis of existing policy synergies between the European Union (EU) and Africa.
