Abstract

The difficult socio-political situation in Ukraine, the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russian-Ukrainian war have led to an exacerbation of a number of socio-economic problems. Economic growth in the country is a prerequisite for providing the household with higher incomes and reducing the risk of poverty. The research is aimed at studying the state and dynamics of household income indicators in the context of the state's fulfillment of its functions as a subject of social policy, as well as at developing practices of using methods of correlation and regression analysis in the field of ensuring a decent standard of living in the context of current trends in the development of the Ukrainian economy. The article analyzes statistical data for 2000-2021 and identifies general trends in the level and structure of household nominal incomes, as well as the features that are clearly manifested when they are compared with the indicators of the volume of gross domestic product, real wages, employment and unemployment. The expediency of using correlation analysis to identify the dependencies between the growth rates of the volume of GDP and real wages is substantiated, and the corresponding regression equation is built. Attention is focused on the structure of consumption of the household, indicators of the subsistence level and actual subsistence minimum as the threshold indicators of the poverty line. In the process of analyzing the differentiation of population incomes by the indicators of the decile coefficient of differentiation of total income of the population, the decile coefficient of funds and the Ginny index, the inequality in their distribution was established, which has its own justification. The obtained results and applied recommendations can be successfully implemented by state and local authorities as a basis for developing a program to overcome inequality and ensure a decent standard of living.
