Abstract

Seismic protection devices have been used in many new and existing buildings as well as bridges all over the world for the last couple of decades. Latest trends in seismic protection have been focused more on the development of new devices which can provide easy solutions for installation and maintenance while providing the needed energy dissipation during the seismic event. This paper focuses on some new designs of seismic protection for bridges, research of new devices and performance observation of seismic protection devices in a hospital building during a recent earthquake. In this scope, case studies have been presented in this paper.
