Özet

Air Quality Protection Regulation (AQPR) is in force in Turkey since 1986. But, no standards, guidelines and regulations exist for control of odor problems in this legislation of Turkey. Moreover, there are odor complaints in the residential and industrial areas as well as at the tourist sites of Turkey. It was recorded by the national and local environmental authorities that most of the complaints from environmental pollution is based on 'malodorous' water bodies, wastewater discharges, solid wastes or emissions. But specific legislative procedure for their handling, management and treatment does not exist. Therefore. this problem should be adequately addressed.
