Özet

This study is concerned with the free bending vibrations of rectangular, orthotropic plates adhesively bonded through a single lap joint. The influence of the shear deformation and rotary moment of inertia in adherends are taken into account according to the Mindlin plate theory. Both thickness and shear deformations in the adhesive layer are included in the formulation. First, the equations of motion and the stress resultant-displacement relations are used to reduce the vibration problem to a system of first order differential equations. Then, a Levy type solution in conjunction with a revised form of the `Transfer Matrix Method' is used to formulate the eigenvalue problem. The effects of several parameters on natural frequencies are investigated and some mode shapes are presented.
