Abstract

A new discrete phase correction strategy for digital symbol synchronisation of PAM signals is proposed for a zero-crossing type of synchroniser circuit (ZCS), and raised cosine wave. The results of experimental studies and computer simulations clearly indicate that the proposed loop filter improves the performance of the synchroniser by yielding a smaller variance of phase jitter.
