All rights reserved.In this paper, isolated rotor noise validation and identification of full helicopter BVI noise are performed by a recently developed aerodynamic noise calculation code TACO. TACO results are compared and validated with PSU-WOPWOP which is a widely known aerodynamic noise calculation tool and HART-II wind tunnel test data. Time dependent pressure and blade position data required by the acoustic codes are generated with CHARM using full helicopter trim approach. Hovering flight acoustic characteristics from various observer locations are estimated with TACO and compared with results of PSU-WOPWOP. Finally, CHARM full helicopter trim option is utilized with TACO to study Blade-Vortex Interaction dominated flight condition acoustic characteristics.
