Abstract
We present a new locally-conformal perfectly matched layer method, called LCPML-log, for solving electromagnetic radiation and scattering problems using the finite element method (FEM). Unlike previous PML methods, the LCPML-log method has two advantages: (i) It achieves optimal PML performance without any parameter tuning, and (ii) it works well with even a single PML layer. Hence, the LCPML-log method offers a more cost-effective and robust PML technique.
