Abstract
This edited book enhances our understanding of a continued phenomenon: academics in post-conflict societies and their work experiences. Its subject matter and the lived experiences it curates enhance our understanding of the tumultuous relationship between societies in- and post-conflict and endurance of academic lives. Woven with first-hand accounts of subjugation, displacement, resilience, memory, and resistance, the edited book presents 10 accounts by 21 scholars around the world. This review illustrates the common themes and diverse methods across chapters, highlights novel insights, and offers a critical assessment of the book's academic and policy contributions and limitations.
