In this text, the exhibition WACK!: Art and the Feminist Revolution exhibition. Opened in 2007 at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles, this exhibition deals with the period between 1965 and 1980, a period of intense feminist activism and art production worldwide. In its comprehensiveness, it is a retrospective of the feminist art movement of the period it focuses on. After providing a general overview of the exhibition and the period, the article then touches upon the 18 sections of the exhibition organized according to themes, each section featuring some of the works exhibited within the scope of that theme. Inferences are made on the basis of the examples given on this subject, which was chosen consid- ering the role of perceiving the works of the female generation of artists of that period in making sense of today's artistic Works.
Bu metinde feminist sanat tarihinde önemli bir yere sahip WACK!: Art and the Feminist Revolution sergisi incelenecektir. 2007 yılında Los Angeles’ta Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA)’da açılan bu sergi, dünya çapında feminist aktivizmin ve sanat üretiminin yoğun olduğu 1965-1980 arası dönemi ele alır. Kapsayıcılığıyla, odaklandığı dönemin feminist sanat hareketinin retrospektifi niteliğindedir. Yazı kapsamında, sergi ve dönem ile ilgili genel bir bilgi verildikten sonra, serginin temalara göre ayrılmış 18 bölümüne değinilmiş, her bir bölümde o tema kapsamında sergilenmiş bazı yapıtlara yer verilmiştir. O dönemin sanatçı kadın kuşağının üretimlerini algılamanın, günümüz sanat üretimlerinin anlamlandırılmasında oynadığı rol düşünülerek seçilen bu konu ile ilgili, yer verilen örnekler üzerinden çıkarımlar yapılmıştır.
