Özet

This chapter, based on the employment of a qualitative case study design, focuses on exploring how Turkish ELT instructors perceive and experience digitalization and datafication in higher education. This chapter highlights the need for learning about digitalization not only as a pedagogical competence but also as a multifaceted capacity that includes critical reflection, ethical sensitivity, emotional intelligence, and professional autonomy. By reporting on both the positive and negative perceptions toward the use of digitalization in the teaching profession, this chapter is valuable for professional growth with cautiousness (mindful use) of technology, which is an approach grounded in pedagogical purpose rather than technological novelty. This chapter contributes to global conversations on how educators can adopt digital tools while safeguarding human-centered teaching values.
