Özet
The use of Rayleigh scattering for determination of the instantaneous density and temperature in gaseous turbulent media, with or without chemical reactions, is described briefly, as well as the optical arrangement needed to carry out the measurements. The interpretation of the Rayleigh signal and the main sources of error are discussed. Experimental results for the instantaneous temperature and density in a premixed turbulent flame are presented and compared with measurements of the mean temperature obtained in the same flame by a thermocouple. Different statistical analyses of the instantaneous Rayleigh signal are also discussed.
