Özet

The application of oxidized AlxGa1-xAs in guided wave optics is demonstrated. A low index of refraction of oxidized AlxGa1-xAs is utilized for stronger optical confinement to reduce electrode related losses and to increase birefringence in polarization splitting directional couplers.
