Özet
Near-field thermophotovoltaic (TPV) devices harness evanescent waves and surface polaritons to achieve enhanced power density, offering a promising pathway for efficient energy conversion. This study examines a TPV system comprising a Drude model-based emitter and an In As photovoltaic cell. We evaluate the effects of emitter plasma and damping frequencies on spectral efficiency and analyze quantum efficiency under varying cell parameters. The results indicate that spectral efficiency is highly sensitive to emitter properties, while quantum efficiency is predominantly influenced by cell characteristics and remains unaffected by emitter variations. Further analysis highlights transparent conductive oxides, specifically aluminum-zinc-oxide (AZO), as promising candidates for emitters due to their low optical losses and tunable properties. These findings provide valuable guidance for optimizing material selection and designing near-field TPV systems.
