In this study, a beach restoration project requested by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality to create an artificial beach for the use of citizens at Afetevler in Mersin is presented. The designed coastal protection system in the project is described and numerical investigations on the performance of the protection system are presented. The studies were carried out separately on the East and West sides of Mersin Marina. The numerical studies were carried out using the XBeach numerical model and a one-line numerical model. Within the scope of the studies, for both sides, scenarios with only nourishment, only coastal structures, and both cases were tested. As a result of the numerical modeling studies, the scenario with only nourishment for the West side and the scenario with both sand nourishment and coastal structures for the East side of Mersin Marina are suggested.
