Özet

Importance of renewable energy sources is increasing by understanding detrimental effect of climate change on our daily life and global economic system. At this point, organic photovoltaic technology comes to the forefront with its substantial advantages such as low toxicity, low cost and, ease of production. In this study, six different random conjugated polymers were designed and synthesized. Benzodithiophene core serves as the monomeric donor unit in the obtained polymers, which also contain benzoxadiazole and thienopyrrole as monomeric acceptor units. While this research is partially concerned with investigation of effect of the equivalencies of monomeric acceptor cores, it mostly highlights the impact of different π-bridges on photovoltaic performance. The motivation of π-bridge modifications is optimizing the structures to enhance organic solar cell performance. This motivation directed the research to a comparison of thiophene and selenophene π-bridges. All in all, six different conjugated polymers, BDTOXS-80, BDTOXS-60, BDTOXS- 40, BDTOXSe-80, BDTOXSe-60, and BDTOXSe-40 were synthesized successfully. Structural, optical, electronical characterizations of them are completed. All polymers were served as donor material in the active layer of bulk heterojunction organic solar cells with conventional device architecture of ITO/PEDOT: PSS/polymer: PC71BM/LiF/Al. Solar device with BDTOXS-60 polymer showed the highest JSC and PCE values, 6.89 mA/cm2 and 3.73%, respectively.
