Abstract

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges in the 21st century. It is likely to bring severe consequences for human life and settlements. Until recently, climate policy focused on mitigation actions, which aim to curb global warming and avoid further climate change. However, the increasing evidences that world's climate is actually changing have led to increase of attention on adaptation actions along with the mitigation ones. Thus, it is now widely recognized that prompt mitigation and adaptation actions are required to tackle the climate problem.
