Özet

Among other factors, academics play an important role in the satisfaction of international students in the host country. Despite this significance, empirical research tends to focus more on non-academic factors such as cultural, linguistic, or social experiences related to the host city. Considering this gap, this chapter aims to explore international students’ experiences with academic staff during their studies in Türkiye and how these experiences influence their satisfaction. The study was designed as a basic qualitative research project. Interviews were conducted with 30 international students. The findings indicate that students are more satisfied with the academic quality and their interactions with staff members. Academic quality is a key factor in choosing Türkiye for studying abroad. More importantly, academia itself is central to students’ perceptions of quality. Additionally, the nature and form of international academic experiences are critical in providing an international and intercultural academic environment for international students.
