Short stories are great authentic materials, never out-of-date and easy to be
used in one class hour. As Lazar (2003, p.15) indicates a
good short story may involve students “in the suspense of unraveling the plot” (p.15). Through this activity, the students can extend not
only the story plot but also the suspense in the story in a creative way.
