Abstract

NewdevelopmentsintheRisøTL/OSLsystemincludesasoftwarecontrolledheaterfittedunderneaththebetasource toenableirradiationofsamplesatanelevatedtemperature.Thisallowsinvestigationsofcompetitioneffectsfromthermally shallowtrapsandcentres.Significantadditionalsoftwaredevelopmentsincludethefacilitytovarylinearlythestimulationpower duringstimulation(linearlymodulatedOSL).Theelevatedtemperatureirradiatorfacilityhasbeenfurtherexpandedtoallowthe measurementofradioluminescence(RL)duringbetairradiation.ThisadditionalfacilityallowsthemeasurementofTL,OSL andRLinthesamesoftwarecontrolledautomaticsequence.Thispaperprovidesadescriptionofthecapabilitiesofthenew combinedautomaticTL/OSL/RLreader,andillustratestheapplicationoftheelevatedtemperatureirradiatorfacility,andtheRL unit.Thenewmeasurementfacilitieshaveprovidedpreliminaryinformationaboutpossibletrapcompetitionduringstorage,and changesinrecombinationprocesses.
