Özet

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is widely used in communication systems and has also emerged as a promising waveform for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems. However, its sensing capability is affected by the transmitted data symbols, whose randomness can produce elevated sidelobes in the ambiguity function (AF) of OFDM signals. To address this issue, this article proposes a subcarrier-level amplitude and phase optimization approach for OFDM signaling to suppress sidelobes and improve sensing accuracy. The proposed technique partitions the subcarriers into data and regulator groups, where the regulator subcarriers are used to optimize adjacent data subcarriers to shape the delay-domain AF. The optimization is formulated to maximize the mainlobe-to-sidelobe energy ratio while satisfying amplitude and phase constraints. Numerical results show that the proposed technique achieves substantial sidelobe reduction in the AF.
