Özet

This paper examines the establishment of the METU (Middle East Techni-cal University) campus in Ankara, its design principles, the relationship be-tween the university community and campus spaces, how they transformeach other. We can read from the METUcampus that a well-designed place increases social interaction and hasan important share in the formation of the community. METU communityhas a strong effort in making public spaces of the campus into meaningful places.
