Electric resonance of a metamaterial based single-sided S-Shaped resonator is studied in this paper. The change in effective permeability and permittivity is observed by investigating the electric and magnetic responses to the incident wave. The tunability of the effective constitutive parameter is analysed by investigating the electric and magnetic responses of the proposed structure. The proposed resonators may be utilized to realize tunable microwave circuits such as filters and impedance matching networks.
