Özet:
The study develops an interpretive framework for understanding architectural theory's self-representation, articulated under two grand narratives, foundationalism and anti-foundationalism, that provide for the textual geography of the work. It is within this geography that the hermeneutical exercise proceeds to the exploration of architectural theory's epistemological and ontological significance, under a subtext arguing for architectural theory's syncretism and self-affiliation to philosophy. This subtext is extended into a metaphor that unfolds itself throughout the survey, to locate significant moments of of theory's self-representation.
