    This class aims to extend students’ understanding of early childhood curriculum and provide an opportunity for them to more critically analyze and discuss the works of various scholars, past and present. Examining and comparing multiple theorists and movements, fitting them into a personally meaningful framework and articulating their own philosophies of early childhood curriculum are the major expectations from the students. During the semester Dewey, Piaget, Vygotsky, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf Education, Multiple Intelligences and the Project Approach will be specifically addressed. In addition, at the end of the semester students are expected to analyze the Turkish early childhood curriculum through a comparison with the Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP).
