This course aims to improve participants’ understanding
and skills of college level teaching. It
provides an overview of the issues, principles, and practices associated with
effective college teaching. Topics examined include educational perspectives,
learning styles, course design, teaching methods and strategies, teacher and
student behaviors, university culture and ethics and student assessment. By the
end of the course, it is intended that participants increase awareness of basic
concepts in relation to education, university students and teaching, and
improve planning and teaching skills in various aspects like course design,
teaching and learning processes, student motivation and assessment of
achievement.
