    This course enables students to gain an understanding of a real-world data informatics project conduct and to apply learned skills in a practical context. Students will be grouped into teams to undertake an industry-aligned project and use the tools, techniques and skills acquired in the other program courses. The teams will be assigned to a client and will interact with that client to achieve objectives. Teams will meet on predetermined milestones to evaluate outcomes.

    By the end of the course the students are expected to acquire knowledge and ability in

                   Developing a DI project in an iterative and incremental way.

                   Initiating a DI Project

                   Planning and managing a DI project

                   Specifying and managing data requirements

                   Understanding, preparing and evaluating Data

                   Modelling and model evaluation

                   Deploying the Project

                   Reviewing outcomes of a DI Project


     

    Week 1: Introduction to DI project course. Building up project teams. Understanding the Project Goal and Scope, and Terminology

    Week 2: Theoretical Course 1: How to Understand Business Needs - Inception of the Project

    Week 3: Theoretical Course 2: Developing a Plan for a DI Project – Introduction to DI Project Frameworks and Lifecyle Models

    Week 4: Theoretical Course 3: Understanding and Preparing Data – Obtain, Describe and Explore Data, Verify the Quality of the Data, and Restructure the Data if Needed.

    Week 5: Theoretical Course 4: Modelling:  Selecting an Appropriate Modelling Technique, generating a Test Procedure to Test Model’s Quality and Validity and Building Up the Model

    Week 6: Theoretical Course 5: Evaluating Models to Understand Deficiencies, Approval of Models, Planning Deployment and Deploying the Solution, Discussing Monitoring and Maintenance Strategies

    Week 8: Iteration 1: Review and Retrospective Cycle 1

    Week 9: Iteration 2 Starts – Planning Review
