This course examines contemporary approaches to science teaching and learning with a focus on emerging trends, technologies, and sociocultural perspectives. Designed for upper-level undergraduate students in science education, the course is organized around five modules: (1) foundations and global trends in science education, (2) technology-enhanced learning and artificial intelligence, (3) sociocultural perspectives including culturally relevant pedagogy, place-based learning, and equity, (4) interdisciplinary and integrated approaches, (5) future-oriented perspectives including global citizenship and innovations in science education, and also student-led reflections. Through readings, discussions, and design-based projects, students will critically engage with these approaches and develop the ability to design, implement, and evaluate innovative science teaching strategies that foster scientific literacy, critical thinking, and responsiveness to global and local challenges.
