Develops qualitative inquiry skills using digital tools, particularly a Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis (CAQDAS) Package with a special emphasis on a Software for Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research, MAXQDA. Focuses on (i) collecting qualitative data with MAXQDA, (ii) organizing externally-collected and internally-created data within MAXQDA, (iii) analyzing different type of data (i.e., text, image, audio, video, website, twits, and spreadsheet), and (iv) visualizing data, analyzing through visuals, and visualizing analytical relationships (i.e. results). Provides graduate students a theoretical lens on the methodological and ethical issues that researches presumes when using digital tools for a particular methodology (i.e., grounded theory, mixed method, etc.) and a practical lens on the ways in which digital tools, are used in qualitative inquiry.
