Students will learn different concepts aimed at designing
and implementing solid Impact Evaluation (IE) exercises. IE’s basic assumptions,
main goals and a number of issues associated with it will be introduced. The different
econometric methods used in this field will be discussed in class. Students will
present case studies in order to master the concepts, aims and understand other
issues associated with IE. Students will learn how to master an econometric software
Stata, particularly suited for causal analysis. Its utilization, combined with
real life data sets, will enable students to prepare a term project on IE.
