Course Description and Objectives: This is the second of a two-semester class on the history of wars, weapons, armies and military science throughout history. In this semester developments in warfare from the First World War to conflicts currently being fought will be examined
Course Requirements and Methodology: Students are expected to attend classes and come to class havıng read and studıed the assıgned texts, as both theoretical and practical work will be carried out in class. Methodology will include not only lectures, but also class discussion and therefore class participation will be taken into serıous consideration in the final assessment.
Assessment: Grades are based on the results of a mid-term and final exam. The mid-term exam is 50% of the final grade and the final exam is also 50%.
Make-up exams are only given for medical reasons (medical report required), scheduling conflicts with another department (requires a signed note from the department stating the time and date of their exam), or verified emergencies. More than one exam on the same day, lack of preparation etc. are NOT acceptable excuses.
