This course is a
thematic architectural history survey based on a collection of chronologically
organized urban processions, chosen from different geographical areas and
cities. The aim is to decode the architecture of the procession defined by the
movement and sequential act of the crowds shifting from one point to another as
the choreography evolves. For each week, students will read key essays in the
assigned period, prepare storyboards describing the urban movement and
participate in class discussions.
