The premise of this course is to understand the relationships among schooling, society, and policy making as a means to examining social problems in education, devising and analyzing policy alternatives, and developing skills to evaluate the impact of educational policies and decisions that result from complex social and historical processes, and reflect political priorities, cultural beliefs and economic dynamics.
