This course examines formative
assessment principles and practices in mathematics and science education,
focusing on key formative assessment strategies (e.g., Wiliam & Thompson, 2008).
Students will engage with theoretical and practical perspectives on how formative
assessment can support student learning and inform instructional decisions.
Students will design lesson plans and create lesson plays to demonstrate how
these strategies can be effectively implemented to enhance teaching and
learning. Emphasis will be placed on using evidence of student thinking to
adapt instruction, provide meaningful feedback, and foster collaborative and
self-regulated learning environments.
