The Sabancı Museum in Istanbul marked a turning point in the development of “museology as a discipline” and “museum as a building type” in Turkey.
This re-use and conservation project has the potential to become “a model” for the promotion of an architecture where the rich history of cultural heritage merges with modern technology to help store the valuable documents of its artistic and architectural memory.
