Trolling is frequently observed in online platforms of communication, although, it remains as an obscure phenomenon. This is due to it having limited empirical research and lack of consensus about the definitions amongst scholars. This study aims to bring an insight into trolling behavior by presenting an overview of previous research on toxic behaviors that are considered as trolling in online communities and in the context of online gaming. Additionally, a questionnaire that is used to observe how trolling is perceived was conducted to 83 participants and the findings are discussed.
